I’m not sure if this is going to be a top-10 blog post, but it is a really important topic and I thought I’d lay out some of the issues around it. When I think about it, there are so many aspects of the job that we take for granted but which can be so hard to see. Our job takes up a lot of time and energy, and we are responsible for ensuring that a safe airport is operating at a high level.
Sure, we should be taking care of it. We should be working to make sure the airport operates as efficiently as possible, we should be taking care of our equipment (and getting it in the right state to take care of it), and we should be working on our customer service and getting them to the airport in a timely manner. But the reality is that it is very hard to see how that is all that we are doing at work.
As a matter of fact, we’re not even supposed to be doing this. We’re not supposed to do this. We should be. We should be doing this. We should be doing this.

I’ve been working in the industry for five years, and I have the following to say about it: The pay is better than I thought at first. The job is full of a lot of variety, and I have the time of my life. I’m also one of four managers at a large international airport, which means I make the most money (and are the only manager there), and I don’t have to pay for health insurance.
This is the most common complaint we get from airport managers. We get that their job is to handle the passengers, but it seems like they are just barely making ends meet. The salary is the least of their worries. Like many other salary questions, it can make the difference between a manager who is happy and one who is frustrated. At the end of the day, if you are a manager at an airport, you should be happy.
We’re not saying that the manager’s job should be a high one. We’re just saying that if you are a manager at an airport, the best thing you can do is try to do better. As an airport manager, you should strive to be able to pay your employees more than a minimum wage. After all, you don’t just hire people to do a job, you hire them to do a job well.
This is a sentiment that I’ve heard many times.
You probably should have already signed a contract with your employees. But the best way to get them to stick to it is to make sure that they are getting paid in a competitive market. If your airport manager is making a million dollars per year, the best thing you can do is to pay him more than a million. If he is making a few hundred thousand, the best thing you can do is to make him pay the difference.
The best way to get the best management in a particular market is to pay more for their services. It’s why you should expect to pay more for someone in finance if they are making five times as much.
