Iceland’s economy is based on tourism, so a lot of the money earned from the tourists is spent on hotels, restaurants, and other businesses that create jobs. Most people in Iceland work in hotels, restaurants, shops, or other businesses, so even though your salary is low you still have to spend a lot of money on housing, food, and other necessities.
The point is that for many people living in iceland the budget you spent doing some sort of job is a small percentage of that spending. Most people in iceland have no way of knowing what kind of job they are in, so your spending in general is a small percentage.

You can’t really call them out for help, but instead you have to deal with them, and then a couple of people who are willing to help you to get something done.
This is where things get good, as you can actually do a little bit of business (well, maybe not a lot of business) with people. Iceland houses are built by a private company called Hverft, which is run by a couple of the Icelandic parliament members. They are based in Reykjavik and actually have a website, but you can find the contact info there.
When you see the Icelanders, the two Icelanders usually come together and tell you that their country is dead and they’re on the run. When you see them, the Icelanders also come to you and say, “Oh, Iceland is dead!” You get the sense that this is the beginning of something great happening. That’s what Iceland is, and it’s great to see.
