I grew up in the rome (rock n roll) of Atlanta, Georgia, and it was the place where I would be sitting at a coffee table with my kids. My dad was a farmer, so he didn’t want me to be in the middle of the street. I remember sitting in the middle of the street, watching him, but my dad and I didn’t see each other at the same time. We were just walking around the corner together.
The next thing I know, I’m walking into a restaurant in Atlanta, which is a pretty good place to hang out or watch my favorite movie, The Sopranos. At first I thought it was some kind of “this is cool” kind of place, but then I realized that I had no idea what the real name of this place is. I guess that’s how it looks.
It also happens to be the best place to go in metro-Atlanta, or anywhere for that matter, to watch The Sopranos. Not to mention that it’s pretty close to the airport.
It’s one thing to take a random movie or TV show and put it in a restaurant, but it’s another to put it in a movie theater and put all your movies in it. The Sopranos has a great deal of original material, of course, but the movie has great atmosphere. And the movie-theater is right next to the airport.
That’s actually something we love about downtown Rome. The city’s been on lockdown for about five days now, but it wasn’t really a lockdown until the city decided to close all the movie theaters and restaurants all at once. In the meantime, you can still take the train to the airport and the metro to the center (which is just a few blocks away) and shop and hang out and eat and all that good stuff.
The movie-theater is the area closest to the airport, so you can easily get there by train or taxi. The metro is a bit longer, but it is a quick trip downtown and will take you to the center.
As of this writing, the only movies showing in the theaters and restaurants are some low-quality ones. The rest of the theater’s seats are sold out, and the restaurants are all only food courts that aren’t even worth bothering to go into. Even the movie theater is only showing a few crappy movies, and its entire food court is a collection of food-related ads and other random junk.
I dont know if it’s just me or downtown Rome is lacking in entertainment options. I’d like to see something that wasnt so bland.
Rome has plenty of entertainment options, but for the most part its restaurants are more or less just places to eat. You can find a good number of the best spots, but they are mostly food courts (in a touristy part of town) or just places to eat. There are good restaurants, but they are mainly just food court spots. So while you can find a good number of good restaurants, you wont find many great ones.
