The holiday season has me ready for the return of spring, and I’m excited to celebrate with friends, family, and coworkers as I soak up the sun! Spring time brings with it all sorts of new things for my wardrobe to try on new looks, and I’m glad that I’m not the only one who thinks of spring as the perfect time of year to get dressed up, not the time of year to go out and party.
I was a bit worried that Im just over-exaggerating the fun. But in this case, my German friends have their own way of celebrating the season and their way of doing it is a little different than my way. They are called “Gastkanten” and they celebrate the fact that spring is coming back with a bang. In fact, Im quite proud to call them friends.
Gastkanten are a non-profit organization based in Halle, a small town about 60 kilometers north of Berlin. They have five different branches and take about 15 minutes to get from one to another. One of the branches of Gastkanten is the Gepa which is a german version of the party that Im familiar with. It’s a sort of a mini-golf-style party that takes place in the garden of the main building (and is very fun).
Im not sure if Im an aficionado of german party-loving or just a fan of the german version of this holiday, but Im quite sure Im not the only one who would like to have more germany. Every year Im at least once or twice a year to visit the german branch of Gastkanten. It’s like a trip down memory lane.
Im sure its the best way to travel and it works very well out of the house. Its also fun, as it doesn’t have to be really long and heavy. Im not sure why its not a very enjoyable activity.
Thats what Im saying, its not the most enjoyable thing ever. But its not just the fact that it is germany, but also the fact that there are so many places you can go to and im still missing something. Im a bit spoiled by this holiday and i dont like that i cant go to the german branch of Gastkanten. Im probably a bit more spoiled by my other holiday, a trip to the country.
It’s actually not so bad. The biggest drawback is the fact that the location doesn’t always deliver a lot of fun. In The House, you can go to the countryside, which isn’t that great, but it’s not too bad the rest of the time. In other words, it’s only good when you like the location of the house.
I know it’s not so bad with this holiday, but in this case I would just say that I’m not so bad when I’m trying to get more money (or the store, or the car) to go to the house. There are a few things that I dislike about this holiday, though, namely the lack of family and friends. I just love the way it has been over the years. Maybe you should try it.
You might not be able to get that place you want, but you can definitely get more money that you were hoping for. And it’s a fun time to go to the store too.
The Holiday is pretty much the same story as the rest of the holiday, except it’s not so exciting. There’s no going back to the past when the holiday has gone away, and it’s no longer the same. This is just a new time, not the one before.
