It’s no secret that I have a soft spot for the Portuguese. I have been in and out of Portugal for almost two decades and I really love their food, music, and culture. I have one of their jerseys, and a very fond memory of my first visit to Lisbon.
The first time I took a look at the map I was amazed at the number of Portuguese restaurants I found in Paris. I was blown away by how well-traveled these restaurants were. I thought they must be really well-connected as they had my mom’s favorite restaurant, Bairro Alto.
I mean of course it makes you feel connected to the culture, but I wonder if that really matters to Google’s algorithms. Do you think it matters to search engines? I don’t really know, but I don’t know anything about them.
Googles algorithms are really good at picking up on how well-connected you are. But that doesn’t mean they know how to recognize Portuguese people. The best Portuguese restaurant I found in Paris is actually a French restaurant. A little over a year ago, I found a Portuguese restaurant in Rome that was a year older than the one in Paris.
The good news is that Googles algorithms are great at recognizing languages (at least those that are familiar). The bad news is that they arent great at recognizing the ways that Portuguese people speak. But we are starting to see that more and more Portuguese speakers are starting to become proficient in their language. It’s not a perfect solution though. They don’t have that many Portuguese speakers, and they are still very much seen in the same way as French people.
That’s good news also because the Portuguese guys are a perfect example of the fact that Googles algorithms arent so great at recognizing language even when it is familiar. Portuguese speakers are pretty much the same as French speakers. They have the same dialect, but are not considered a language. This means that they have to be manually transcribed for Googles algorithms, and that means that when they are used for translation, they get a lot of weird errors.
In Porto, the language of the city, the language of the people, is spoken. It is very different to the language spoken by the people of Goa because it is more like the language of the city. The language of the city is the language of the Portuguese guys, and the language of the people of Goa is the language of the Portuguese guys. This means that when people are translating, they are not going to get the same errors.
This error is really weird. It is very rare for us to see this error, but it’s a real bug. Our translators in Goa speak Portuguese, not Porto. We have to explain this to our clients, because we see hundreds of our clients say this. It’s a bit like when you see people pronouncing the “R” sound as [r], but in Portuguese.
This error is very weird because the language is not the one of the author. In Portuguese, the R sound is pronounced r, as in “rabbit”. But in Portuguese, the r sound is pronounced r, as in “ram”. The difference between r and r are really important here, because this is the language of the people on Deathloop.
We don’t speak Portuguese, but we try to speak it. And by speaking it, we’re trying to learn how to speak it, not just pronounce it.
