If you’ve been living in Russia for a while, you’ve probably heard about taxes. Well, this has an explanation. While the federal government is quite literally trying to steal your money, the Russian government is doing something much, much worse.
The Russian government has been taxing Russian companies, in addition to their state-owned enterprises, to avoid paying the country’s foreign debt. As a result, many companies choose to pay their taxes in Russian rather than in their native language. This is why youve probably never heard of the Russian government taxing Russian companies.
Russian companies seem to be doing pretty well, since they’ve been taxed even more than their foreign counterparts, as a result they’ve been able to reduce their tax bill. However, it seems that there are some companies who are paying their taxes in Russian, but the government won’t let them, so they’re hiding in Russia.
Well, it’s not clear to me. The government cant tax you for being Russian, so I’m not sure why they would want to. If it really is Russian companies that are hiding in Russia, then maybe they should tax Russian companies more? I know that Russia has a very low tax rate compared to the rest of the Eurozone, but if its only a few hundred bucks a year then it could be a decent amount for the government to spend on their foreign friends.
So, if they cant tax their Russian companies, then its time to tax the rest of the Eurozone.
I agree with that sentiment. The Eurozone is one of the most corrupt countries in Europe, and the government has done nothing to curb their corruption, so the least they can do is make it harder for their companies to hide in europe.
Also, for those of you who dont know, the government in Russia has been trying to move to a new currency and this is actually the first step of this process. There are some countries that were trying to move to a new currency before, but they never made it past the first step. Russia was supposed to be the first country to move to the new currency, but they were never able to make it past the first step.
So now, we have to move to a new currency. The country would be in a good position if they already had the infrastructure to move, but that’s not the case. Taxes are so high in Russia, that they aren’t only trying to change their currency. They want to change the tax system, too.
