When we travel abroad, we know we’re living a life where we are actually making time to make a difference. It doesn’t always happen for some reason, but it is one of those things where you can feel like you have to take time to make a difference. I also like to think of the most important thing about our travel, the things we would do if we were on the same plane that we are on.
Switzerland is one place on that list. Many of us make a point of seeing the entire country in a single visit.
Switzerland is a beautiful, and well-run country, but it has a lot to offer that most of us can only dream of. There are a number of beautiful locations that we can visit without paying a ton of money, like Lake Geneva, the Alps, or even the Swiss Alps itself. And of course there are some places that you can only get to by road and boat.
We’ve already talked about the Lake Geneva, so I won’t go too much into it. The Alps are something else altogether. The Alps don’t get much exposure, but they’re so beautiful that they are worth the effort of visiting them. And the Swiss Alps themselves are a must see. The highest mountain in the world, the snow is white and crisp, the colors are incredible, and the views are breathtaking.
If youve ever wondered what it would be like to travel through the Alps on a snowmobile, now is the time to go. You can pick up a snowmobile and you can travel through the Alps in a matter of hours, but if youve never been on a snowmobile before, its easy to get lost in the mountains. Its a big thing for me because I live in the US but I am not a fan of snowmobiles.
Switzerland has one of the best ski resorts in the world, and unlike the Alps it’s not exactly a secret. But the snow is not really that good, so you really have to work for the best views. For example, the mountain town of Arosa is pretty amazing, but it has no ski lifts, so you have to be really good to get to the top. I’ve skied in the Alps and I love them, but I’m not a fan of snowmobiles.
But there are some pretty amazing ski resorts. The best ski resorts in Switzerland are in the Zugspitz (a ski resort on Lake Zug), and as the name suggests, it has a number of world-famous ski areas. The village of Arosa offers some of the best skiing in the region, and is probably the best place in Europe for snowboarding, but you have to be really, really good to get to the top.
To the best of my knowledge, there are no resorts in Zug that are so popular that they offer snowboarding or snowmobiling. The last resort in Zug is a smallish resort with a handful of lifts, and is the only resort that has an entrance fee, but you don’t have to ski it to get to the top.
Arosa is the most famous resort in Switzerland, but there are many more famous ones that have a different and perhaps more natural flair. If you’re looking for a big resort that’s got a lot of elevation change, Arosa is probably your best bet. On the other hand, one of the best ski resorts for snowboarding in Switzerland is Sion in St. Moritz.
Sion is a resort that has the most challenging terrain of any in the Swiss Alps (and therefore the highest elevation) and is very well maintained. The resort itself is run by a board of “snowboarders” and is home to many of the world’s most famous snowboarders. The resort itself looks and feels like a small town in the Alps. The snow is deep and the lifts are very good.
